A Greenhouse for Winter Family Photos

When the weather turns cold and the outdoors doesn't seem as appealing, many families tend to think they have to wait out the bleak winter months until Spring before they can get their pictures taken. Believe me, I'm all about those spring blooms or colorful fall leaves but they're not the only option! A greenhouse can be the perfect location if the weather is cold, rainy, or you just love the idea of being surrounded by botanicals. Here are the reasons I love utilizing these ever-blooming locations.

1. The temperature is perfect.

Hate being cold? Have a young baby? Have kids that don't love shivering as the sun sets? Greenhouses are perfect for you! Greenhouses have to be warm to keep all those plants thriving so they're the best place for those who love to be snug as a bug.

2. We have a wider window of light.

Because you're inside at a greenhouse, you can plan your shoot time around naptimes or difficult evening schedules because you don't have to work around that dreamy golden light. You actually want to shoot when the light is brighter so your photos can still look light and bright.

3. You can wear whatever you want!

If it's winter, we often feel we have to wear dark colors, bundle up, or accessorize with boots, hats, scarves, etc. Going to a greenhouse opens up a whole new world of wardrobe options. If you're dying to wear a pretty dress, want your babe to wear a sweet romper, or want to wear lighter colors, this a great place to go. Your light colors will pop against all the vibrant hues you'll find indoors and you don't have to worry about goosebumps.
