Kyle, a new missionary, went to serve in his first district in the Tucson, Arizona Mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He was young, nervous, and felt completely in over his head. But then he met Ali. Ali was two transfers shy of going home and gave him the courage he needed to stick it out and serve a faithful mission. Little did either of them know that in just over two years from that time, they'd be having engagement photos taken in Tibble Fork Canyon.
Ali, who'd overcome her own mission stumbling block when she'd first started her service was able to help Kyle see that there was only good waiting for him if he chose to stay. Fast forward to today. I asked Kyle how he knew Ali was the one and he said, "Her compassion as a true friend. She helped me see things in myself that I didn’t see or wouldn’t see.”
Ali and Kyle, thank you for letting me get to know you and see you as a couple. Your goofiness and optimism promises to bring lots of laughter and shared strength as you go through life. I can't wait for all the photos we still get to take!
