Charming In-Home Session with the Malgieri Family

This family of three was such a joy to work with. Mom, dad, and baby Jack are so sweet together. They opted for an in-home session, which is a beautiful and intimate way to document a season of life. With an in-home session, you not only get a snapshot of each member of your family but also of your family home. I have had clients skip out on in-home photos because of the condition of their home, but you will not regret it. These family photos are so comfortable and tight-knit; I promise that they will be lovely. As far as prep goes, all you will need to do is pick up clutter and remove any distracting knickknacks, and you will be good to go!
It is fun for me to get to know my clients before the session so that we can make their photos unique to them. These three are happily adjusting to the wonderful ways they can bring Jack into their favorite hobbies and interests. Whether they’re watching football as a family or walking the dogs, they’ve loved seeing Jack experience the world and learn new things every day.
We shot photos in both the living area and in baby Jack’s nursery, which was super cute, almost like post-newborn newborns. Jack’s parents worked so hard to create a beautiful and comfortable nursery for their son, and it definitely needed to be documented. These photos are something that they will be able to look back on and remember Jack’s first bedroom for years to come. I love that this family styled themselves in a similar color scheme to their home, which makes for a really cohesive look for this shoot. Choosing outfits that fit the vibe of your home makes for portraits that will fit your decor style later on.
At the end of our session, we were even able to get some shots with Jack’s grandma and grandpa. I am completely supportive of including the special people in my clients’ lives in their portraits. Jack and his grandparents will cherish these pictures forever. Make sure to let me know on your client questionnaire beforehand if there are more family members you would like in your photos.
